  American Whitewater rates the reach Class II-III. Trip reports describe only a few mild rapids around 500 cfs, but changing wood, bridge hydraulics, cold water, and current channel conditions still require a moving-water-capable craft and worn PFD. The Teton Dam launch road is gated by the Bureau of Reclamation; the documented approach requires hiking several hundred yards from the gate to the water. Confirm current gate status, lawful parking, the carry route, and the remnant ramp before committing. The 500 cfs figure comes from repeated American Whitewater trip reports, not a published threshold. Use the downstream St. Anthony gauge only as general context; trend, debris, weather, and the on-site channel inspection override it. Take out on river right just after the 2750 E bridge where the trip report describes good parking. Confirm the current landing, private-bank boundaries, and a safe vehicle staging point before launch; do not continue into the next Teton section without a new plan.
