    American Whitewater rates this reach Class IV-V with numerous advanced rapids, a deep isolated canyon, and little opportunity to hike out. The BLM/IDFG guide warns that Spring Hollow-to-Teton Dam has steep canyon walls, little cell service, and self-rescue expectations; treat the upper Highway 33-to-Felt segment as expert-only. Exit on river right above the Felt Hydroelectric Project. Do not run the dam or the Boneyard rapid without a specific expert plan; confirm the above-dam take-out, steep jeep-trail hike, or lawful portage before launch. 300 cfs is approximately the minimum; about 800 cfs at the Driggs gauge is described as fun, and 2,000 cfs is the published upper planning cue. Flow, wood, weather, snowmelt, and changing access can make the reach unsafe outside an on-site inspection.
