Quick answers
Willamette River paddling FAQ
Where can I paddle the Willamette River?
The Water Trail documents five distinct trips: Alton Baker to Harrisburg, Marshall Island to Harrisburg, Harrisburg to Peoria, Peoria to Crystal Lake, and Michael’s Landing to Hyak. Each has its own distance, access, and hazard notes; other trip options are no longer listed as separate trips.
How should I check Willamette River water levels?
The Willamette Kayak and Canoe Club’s 2,000 cfs low, 6,000 cfs optimal, and 20,000 cfs high references apply to the Alton Baker–Harrisburg reach and its selected Marshall Island–Harrisburg subreach. The other three selected trips are planning-only; their Harrisburg or Corvallis USGS readings are context, not a live recommendation.
Which Willamette River route is best today?
Compare current scores where available, along with water level, recent trend, weather, access, and route difficulty. Planning-only cards provide trip information without a live paddling recommendation.
