Choose a Yellow Breeches trip by access point

The route picker keeps every endpoint choice, with each trip’s gauge, access, shuttle, and safety notes.

Five public access points, four adjacent legs

This route family follows the county’s lower water-trail chain from B2 through B6. The county guide lists Simpson Park–McCormick Park at 1.1 miles, McCormick–Lower Allen at 3.6, Lower Allen–Liberty Forge at 0.5, and Liberty Forge–Yellow Breeches Park at 1.9. The Lower Allen–Liberty Forge card also shows the roughly 0.8-mile mapped trace, so longer totals crossing that leg are displayed as a range. Click a direct leg to compare its launch, take-out, and trip notes.

Plan to finish at B6

Cumberland County reports a complete blockage from a large fallen tree and logjam between B6 and B7, posted July 23, 2024, and recommends taking out at Yellow Breeches Park (B6). The route choices here end at or above B6; do not treat them as an invitation to continue downstream through the B7 hazard or dam-portage area. Check the county advisory again before launch because reported creek conditions can change.

Gauge and access checks

Cumberland County recommends checking USGS 01571500 at Camp Hill and gives a boating range of 1.4–2.0 feet; it lists 6 feet as action stage and 7 as flood stage. This downstream same-creek gauge is context for these planning-only routes, not a guarantee for conditions at a launch. County trail guidance says to stay within daylight hours and respect private property; its 2015 guide lists Lower Allen Community Park as the only trail access with camping, by reservation. Liberty Forge access is limited to the Old Forge Road bridge area and its posted rules.

Review the current Cumberland County water-trail advisories, its Yellow Breeches guide, the interactive access map, and USGS 01571500 before setting a shuttle.

Compare all 10 Simpson–B6 trips in the chooser. Open a trip for its shuttle, gauge, access and safety notes. The Camp Hill gauge does not establish suitable water levels for all of these trips.

Use USGS 01571500 at Camp Hill as same-creek context. Cumberland County recommends 1.4–2.0 ft for boating and lists 6 ft as action stage and 7 ft as flood stage; the gauge does not guarantee conditions at each access point.
