Launch at Brazos River County Park and take out at Bells Landing for the official Columbia Bottomland Waterway segment of the Stephen F. Austin Paddling Trail. Use USGS 08116850 near West Columbia with BRA's Brazos flow chart, then make a same-day call on runoff, wind, tide, snags, quicksand banks, and private-property limits.

Take-out
Bells LandingThe county-park GPS is an official access anchor near the pavilion, and TPWD says the access is about 400 feet from parking. Follow posted park paths to the actual water-entry point on arrival.
Road shuttle
Stage Bells Landing first, then drive back to Brazos River County Park. TPWD says the county-park access is near the pavilion and about 400 feet from parking, while Bells Landing is down the bank at the end of CR 300-F; scout both arrival paths before leaving vehicles.
Additional access notes
- Bells Landing is a simple bank take-out at the end of CR 300-F, not a staffed ramp. Identify the old bridge-abutment landmark and the right-bank exit before floating past it.
- This route uses a river-wide BRA flow chart rather than a route-specific local paddling band. Treat the gauge reading as a decision aid and still check wind, tide, rain, water quality, and visible bank conditions.
- TPWD says private-bank use outside direct hazard portages can be trespassing. Do not treat the Columbia Bottomlands shoreline as a casual picnic, bailout, or camping area above the public streambed.
