- The route is short, but the Allen's Landing take-out is mandatory for this card. Do not drift into a longer downtown or ship-channel plan without a separate route package and current safety review.
- The bayou is navigable, but TPWD says private-bank use outside direct hazard portages can be trespassing. Do not use downtown banks, lawns, bridge embankments, or private edges as casual stops.
- This route uses a local minimum-only threshold source. Around 150 cfs is treated as the floor, while flows above about 2,000 cfs require experienced paddlers and a separate high-water judgment.
