Safety details
Wear a properly fitted PFD, carry water, first aid, spare paddle, communication and offline navigation; cell service is not reliable in the ranch corridor.
- Use the direct USGS 10293500 flow and trend. The official map says 0–200 cfs is not recommended, 201–500 cfs is the sufficient floating level and flows above 500 cfs are for expert paddlers.
- Scout the Class II/III rapids and the diversion dam take-out. Last Call is marked no portage; stop at the signed endpoint and never continue into private property.
- Use only the named State Parks hand-carry launches, respect gates, ranch operations and posted boundaries, and keep a shuttle and emergency plan.
