  • The Elm Lake coordinate is a water objective near a same-river USGS station, not a current public road-end launch. The latest DEC recreation-management material says the proposed Elm Lake car-top launch is no longer accessible; return to Speculator.
  • The route is intentionally separated from the shorter Speculator-to-Duck-Bay Sacandaga loop. Do not merge the branches, extend downstream beyond the hydropower boundary, or use a private Pine Lakes/Elm Lake road point as a vehicle endpoint without current permission and field confirmation.
