- Use the St. Martin gauge's 15 to 17 ft Medium band as the cleanest window. Below 14 ft the corridor gets slower and weedier; rising water increases current and recovery consequence.
- Check both carry-in endpoints before launch, and watch for fresh wood or strainers after storms. Cold-water exposure remains possible outside midsummer even on this short urban shuttle.
