- Slippery footing, shallow carry-downs, crowding at the landings, and the risk of missing the signed Cox Ford finish when the corridor is busy.
- Private banks, thunderstorms, summer heat, cold shoulder-season water, and limited legal places to leave the river outside the named public accesses.
