  • Rainey Road is a simple carry-down start with unpaved parking and no amenities.
  • The Stab / KY-1675 bridge is the only clean public midpoint stop before the Bent section. Do not assume extra legal staging room beyond the marked access footprint.
  • Bent Road is the intended finish, but KDFWR says the carry-out is steep and rocky enough that many paddlers leave vehicles at the top and walk boats up.

Watch for

  • Low water near or below about 100 cfs, when shallow shoals can turn the route into a long scrape-and-walk day.
  • Higher post-rain current that can push boats toward cliff bases and strainers through the Bent.
  • Fresh wood, fatigue late in the run, and a strenuous finish carry at Bent Road.
