Launch at Long Bottom and finish at Cumberland Falls Carrydown for the lower half of the official upstream Cumberland Falls corridor. The route is longer than Thunderstruck-to-Falls and still ends at a mandatory take-out above the 68-foot drop, so it deserves full whitewater attention.

Long Bottom AccessLong Bottom is a legitimate public access, but KDFWR says the final road approach is extremely rugged and best suited to high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Take-out
Cumberland Falls CarrydownKDFWR says to work to the right side of the river before the KY 90 bridge and take out at the public falls parking/carrydown area. Missing that move is a stand-down failure, not a recoverable inconvenience.
Road shuttle
Stage the Cumberland Falls vehicle first, then drive back to Long Bottom. Inspect the falls-side carrydown before launching because the mandatory right-bank take-out above the falls is the core safety gate for the route.
