- Blue Spring uses a steep dirt-road approach and can feel rougher than the short mileage suggests. Scout the landing and turnaround before leaving a vehicle.
Watch for
- Dragging, shallow riffles, and possible short lining when the Mountain View gauge is near or below the 100 cfs conservative floor.
- Fast riffles, tight bends, wood, strainers, bluff ledges, and Class I-II moving-water consequences on a short but remote upper-river route.
- Rapid rises after thunderstorms, cold spring-fed water, limited cell service, and confusion between the Jacks Fork Blue Spring access and the better-known Current River Blue Spring site.
