Launch at Blue Heron and take out at Worley for the shortest KDFWR-documented Big South Fork family float. Use the Stearns gauge as a direct official flow check and stand down when storms or rising water push the river out of the lower bands.

- Woody debris, boulder shoals, pushier current above 500 cfs, and more serious rescue consequences once the river climbs past the family band.
- Dragging or scraping below 100 cfs, especially across shallow riffles and near Worley.
- Cold-water exposure, limited cell service, remote-gorge shuttle timing, and steep or private banks away from the named accesses.
