- Riverton East is the preferred river-left finish just above Highway 160; do not confuse it with other Riverton access points or assume private banks between public accesses are legal substitutes.

- Shallow riffles, scraping, and occasional short portages above Greer Spring when the Bardley gauge is near the 300 cfs floor.
- Mary Decker Shoal, Halls Bay near the end, fresh wood, blind bends, thunderstorms, and cold spring-fed water on a very long route.
- Fatigue, wind on wider lower stretches, motorized users under the 25 hp limit, and limited developed bailouts if you force the whole continuation into one push.
