Thomasville and Cane Bluff to Greer
The upper river is smaller and more sensitive to drought than the spring-fed reaches below Greer Spring. The Forest Service describes Thomasville to Cane Bluff as 9.3 miles and Thomasville to Greer as 16.6 miles; the Conservation Department says spring water helps avoid dragging over upper riffles. Use the trip cards for the exact public access pair and expect conditions to change with rain and season.
Greer Spring to Turner Mill
Greer Spring adds substantial cold water. MDC identifies the 5.5-mile reach below the spring to Turner Mill as a Blue Ribbon Trout Area. Official Forest Service mileage differs by source: its Turner Mill North and Turner Mill South access pages place those landings 4.9 miles below Greer Crossing, while its Scenic River travel guide lists Greer to Turner Mill South as 7 miles. MDC's 5.5-mile management reach begins at Greer Spring. Treat mileage as approximate, confirm the chosen landing, and allow time for the longer estimate.

Turner Mill to Riverton and The Narrows
MDC describes the 14 miles from Turner Mill downstream to Riverton as a White Ribbon Trout Area. The route cards continue to the Highway 142 / The Narrows access, the last planned take-out in this guide. The river continues south beyond that point; these trip choices do not treat the Arkansas line as a take-out.

The station is downstream of Greer Spring, so the smaller Thomasville–Cane Bluff section can be shallow even when the lower gauge looks usable.
