  American Whitewater rates the reach Class III-IV and identifies the Eileen Dam remains, Hole in the Wall, and the Moyie Falls/Moyie Dam reservoir transition as consequential hazards. Scout from legal public land and never approach the active dam or falls complex. North Idaho Rivers describes approximately 500 cfs as a minimum, 3,000-5,000 cfs as a preferred band, and high flows as hazardous because the canyon and dam hydraulics change rapidly.
