  This is a long Class II valley float with cold spring water, changing channels, wood, bridges, and limited quick exits; wear a PFD and use a craft suited to the current flow and wind exposure. American Whitewater says the lower reach is runnable above about 200 cfs. Treat that as a minimum planning cue only: inspect current wood, avoid any log jam, and do not launch when the party cannot self-rescue or the gauge is falling toward the floor. American Whitewater's 2026 alerts document serious log jams in the broader Lardo-to-Deinhard town stretch and warn that debris may move downstream toward the Cascade reservoir sections.
