- Riverton East and Highway 142 are official Forest Service river accesses with published coordinates, ramps, parking, and day-use rules.
- Riverton West is the nearby river-right alternate below the Highway 160 bridge, but Riverton East remains the default launch because it is the cleaner canoe/kayak staging area above the bridge.
- Highway 142 / Narrows is the last access on the southern end of the Eleven Point National Scenic River Area. Missing it pushes the trip toward Myrtle or Arkansas and changes the route plan.
- The Eleven Point corridor includes private lands under scenic easement. Do not assume banks away from public accesses, designated float camps, or legal gravel-bar stops are public.
Watch for
- Shallow shoals and slower travel when the Bardley gauge falls near the 300 cfs floor.
- Snags, root wads, trees, fresh flood wood, blind bends, and cold-water swims on a full-day lower-river reach.
- Rapid rises after rain, thunderstorms, limited developed bailouts, and motorized users under the 25 hp limit upstream from The Narrows.
